Maraština Days are a new great event that awaits us in Zadar!

Organized by the Zadar Wine Festival in order to promote Maraština grape variety, it takes place from June 2nd to June 4th.

Maraština is a variety which has been gaining great importance in winemaking and viticulture in the Zadar region for years and today it can be found throughout the Mediterranean, from Italy to Greece.

The event will include a professional panel, entertainment program and promotional prices of maraschino wine in Zadar restaurants. It starts on Thursday June 2nd, from 6 pm in the premises of the Two Palaces with a panel on the topic of Maraština in vineyards, cellars and hospitality, as well as its potential in the future. The panel consists of professor Edi Maletić, PhD, oenologists Janko Jovanov and Juraj Sladić, and sommelier Josip Orišković. Visitors will also have the opportunity to taste three different styles of Maraština.

A presentation-sales and entertainment program will take place on Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4, at the Šime Budinić Square from 6 pm to 11 pm. Admission is free for all visitors.

15 winemakers from Dalmatia will present their Maraština wines, also known as rukatac. Winemakers will additionally offer two other wines. There will also be a music program - Klapa Kontura from Nin will perform on Friday and a live band on Saturday.

In famous Zadar restaurants, guests will have the opportunity to taste various Maraština wines at promotional prices from Thursday to Sunday. Those are: 4 Kantuna, Bruschetta, Corte (Almayer), Dva ribara, Foša, Groppo, Hedonist, Kapric, Kaštel (Bastion), Kornat, Malo misto, Pašta & Svašta, Pet bunara, Providur, Skoblar.
